Enology Training Programs

As an exchange visitor on the CAEP enology-training program, you will gain hands-on experience in many areas of the business, while learning from some of the most innovative winemakers in the industry! You will have the opportunity to be involved in many of the steps in the winemaking process, including; grape process, fermentation, vineyard sampling, punch downs, racking, sanitation, data entry, lab analysis, and so much more!

During harvest time enology programs are available in cellar, viticulture, and laboratory, with select 12- month placements.

Wine Cellar Training Program

Wine Cellar Enology Training Program

Participants in the CAEP wine cellar training program will have the chance to be involved in the art of turning grapes into wine. Through a wine cellar program, you will have the opportunity to learn the different techniques that are used in producing fine wines. Wine cellar work is generally physically demanding and will require long hours, especially during the "crush" season.

Laboratory Enology Training Program

On the CAEP laboratory training program, you will have the chance to learn how to collect and analyze vineyard samples to determine the ripeness and assess the quality of vineyard grapes. Through your laboratory program, you will learn techniques for sampling and also monitor fermentation.

Viticulture Training Program

Viticulture Enology Training Program

On the viticulture training program, an exchange visitor may assist in many various aspects of vineyard production including grape growing, sampling, canopy management, harvest, and analyzing how the soil and climate affect the character and quality of the grapes. On a viticulture program, you will have the opportunity to learn most aspects of the vineyard including sampling, grape growing processes, canopy management, spraying programs, and harvest intake.

An exchange visitor on the CAEP enology business-training program has a great opportunity to learn about the wine industry from some of the top wineries and winemakers in the world.
