How did your international agricultural internship prepare you for your career in agriculture?
My international experience put me one step ahead when searching and landing my dream job as a sales promoter for Dow AgroSciences. My English improved greatly during my CAEP experience and that helps me every day to understand many things inside the company since it is a multinational (North American) based company. My CAEP experience was an opportunity for me to learn more about agriculture and agricultural markets on a global scale.
I work directly with large farmers who farm anywhere from 50,000 to 150,000 acres. I assist our clients in the agronomy process to ensure our products are being used as we recommend. I also assist with our experimental fields, herbicides and insecticides testing, and some sales.
Do you keep in touch with any of the connections you made during your CAEP experience?
I keep in touch with the friends I made during both of my experiences in Canada and the US. We share pictures and information about agricultural markets and new technologies, entertainment, and cultural customs. I even went to Canada again a year after I left to be a groomsman in my friend’s wedding. The CAEP experience was an amazing opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and of course, a great opportunity to make good connections and great friends from around the globe.
