Celebrating World Bee Day with CAEP: Why Bees Matter More Than Ever
Every year on May 20, we celebrate World Bee Day—a moment to recognize the very critical role bees play in our lives, and without them, our food system and ecosystem would be in jeopardy. At CAEP, this day holds special meaning to all of us.
Bees are far more than just tiny, honey-making machines. From vineyards to vegetable farms, bees contribute to the success of nearly every agriculture and horticulture training program we support.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, these small but mighty pollinators fertilize about 35% of the world’s food crops, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and even coffee. Wow! Can you imagine how different our dinner plates would look without them?
That’s why CAEP is proud to support hands-on learning through the CAEP beekeeping training program, which focuses on pollinator preservation and sustainable agricultural practices. Interns from around the world gain the knowledge and skills needed to care for bee colonies, read hive behavior, and promote long-term pollinator health.
We partner with leading beekeeping hosts across the U.S. to provide real-world, immersive experiences through the CAEP beekeeping training program. One of our outstanding partners is World Honey. Be sure to check out the impactful work they’re doing every day to support pollinators and sustainable apiculture.
Want to see where the CAEP beekeeping training program can take you?
Meet Bayron Hernandez, a CAEP alumnus from Honduras who recently completed his apiary training and is now continuing his journey in bee research.

Today, we’re celebrating not only bees, but also the bright minds in our programs working to protect them. Because when we care for bees, we care for the future of agriculture, biodiversity, and our planet.
Happy World Bee Day!
Let’s keep buzzing toward a more sustainable tomorrow. 🌼🐝
