CAEP Thanks Our Nation’s Law Enforcement
Over the past two decades, CAEP has been incredibly fortunate to have established a great relationship with California Law Enforcement departments. Officers have kindly taken the time to assist our winery program trainees and interns transition to life in the United States. Every summer before grape harvest begins, officers take time out of their busy days to partake in CAEP’s annual seminars for trainees and interns.
“Typically, trainees and interns have just entered the United States and are not familiar with driving in a new country. They also may not be aware of how different laws and driving can be from their home country. Law enforcement has been a great resource to cover basic driving rules and law enforcement in the USA. Having officers address the trainees and interns is also a great way to introduce law enforcement in such a friendly and welcoming environment. Their presentations are always a big hit with the trainees and interns; especially the field sobriety test with the “beer goggles” demo. Our seminars are also important for trainees to interact and learn to be comfortable with our law enforcement,” CAEP Enology Coordinator Lori Holmgran shared.
Our goal at CAEP is to ensure each trainee or intern has the best experience all around, which includes their safety. Our sincerest appreciation to all members of our nation’s law enforcement departments who continue to protect our citizens, our visitors and support the J1 visa visitor exchange program.
