Reflecting on Cultural Connections: Angelica’s CAEP Horticulture Journey at Bergens Greenhouse
Angelica from the Philippines embarked on a remarkable cultural exchange adventure through CAEP. Four years have passed since her transformative exchange experience, yet the memories remain vivid as she reminisces about the profound impact of her adventures. In this blog post, Angelica shares her reflections on the enriching journey of learning, growth, and cultural immersion at Bergens Greenhouse in Minnesota, USA. She also recently went back to visit her host and highlights the lasting significance of fostering connections and understanding across diverse cultures.
“Joining CAEP in 2020 was a transformative experience for me,” Angelica shared. “Interacting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds opened my eyes to the beauty of our differences. Every weekend spent sharing meals and stories in one another’s homes became a cherished tradition. Through CAEP, I expanded my cultural horizons and discovered the beauty in each person’s unique personality. It was an incredible journey of growth, understanding, and friendship.
Four years have passed since my time with CAEP, yet the memories remain vivid in my mind. Returning to my host farm at Bergen’s was like stepping back in time; each corner filled with nostalgia, reminding me of the beautiful moments shared with friends from around the world. It was a heartwarming experience to revisit the places where we laughed, worked, and bonded over. My journey with CAEP continues to enrich my life, reminding me of the enduring connections forged through shared experiences.”
