My First Fourth of July- Meet CAEP Horticulture Intern Ruxell Sorela

I am interning at Geremia Farms in Wallingford, Connecticut. I feel that I am training at a great place as they are teaching us to become both a grower and a manager. My daily tasks include organizing plants, watering, fertilizing, identifying and controlling pests and diseases, managing people and growing.

The Fourth of July was awesome! It was indeed a remarkable experience, not only for me but for all of us interns. It was a celebration of fireworks and freedom. It was also a great opportunity for people and families to bond together. We began the day with a small picnic and then we went to Meriden, Connecticut for the fireworks display. During the celebration, I noticed a great diversity of people and everyone was so united; all coming together to celebrate the freedom of the United States of America. The Fourth was really fun!
