Meet CAEP Agriculture Trainee, João Flavio
I’m living on the farm with a Brazilian intern as well. My host Keven Bradley is an amazing person! He is very patient and knowledgeable and has taught me a lot about the farm life. He graduated in agronomy so he is very knowledgeable and has years of experience on his family farm. I learned a lot about maintenance and how to operate large agricultural machinery, technologies, and how to use the correct fertilizer and chemical on the fields. A typical day for me includes checking fields, spraying chemical, cleaning equipment, buying or bringing equipment parts to town, and fixing equipment.
Outside of the farm, I participated in Montana State University’s field days where they did several plot tests and experiments with wheat and barley in my host’s fields. I learned about seed and pest control here.
My host and his family have also invited me to their house by Glacier National Park for weekends and holidays. They are very nice people! I recommend CAEP because I had lots of success and gained much experience here.”
